How to get to Provence

Provence is a region of southeastern France. It is part of the administrative region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. There are several ways of travelling to Cannes: by air, by sea and by land with the quickest option being by air.
Provence has a important cities in its territory, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon all of them well supplied.

Flying to Provence

If you want to fly to Provence,the nearest airport is Marseille's Marignane. Available by bus or train, The airport is about 20 km southwest of Aix, and 20 km northwest of Marseille. Also Airport Nice Cote d'Azur, but this is far from the east Provence.

The airport is situated on the eastern bank of the pond of Berre. Giving service to the towns of agglomerations of Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Salon-de-Provence and Istres.

The two terminals are accessible on foot from one another. This is the third French airport, excluding Paris, for passenger traffic, behind the Nice and Lyon, and the second by traffic load.

A transport service runs to Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Arles, Avignon approximately every 30 minutes during the day.

The airport of Toulon - Hyères in Hyères is located only 23 km from Toulon and 52 km from Saint Tropez. A bus service from the company "Sodetrav“ runs from the airport to Toulon. The bus stop is in front of the main entrance of the terminal. It takes about 40 minutes and costs € 1.40.

Travelling by Train
The Mediterranean TGV (high-speed train) links Paris / Gare de Lyon with Marseille / Saint - Charles in just 3 hours, 17 times a day. Getting to Avignon by train is very easy because of the strategic location of Avignon. Many European cities are joined to Avignon by rail network as several European train companies have express train services to Avignon. It is possible to catch the Eurostar direct from London to Avignon.

Travelling by bus

There are many combinations of travel, you can travel by bus from Barcelona, Prague, Tangier, etc to Marseille. The bus station is next to the train station, the station of San Carlos on rue Honnorat. All major cities in the Provence have bus station it will be very easy to reach any of them from anywhere in Europe.
